AFL Week 7 Standings
AFL: Crush Hold Off Mustangs, 17-3
MILWAUKEE-It wasn't the prettiest performance, but the Colorado Crush were able to beat the Milwaukee Mustangs 17-3 in a Week 7 AFL game.
The game started with the teams trading punts, then Colorado got moving with an 11-play, 80-yard drive. Howton Thom finished the drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Howell giving the Crush a 7-0 lead with 3:19 left in the first quarter.
Milwaukee would punt on their next possession, then Colorado appeared primed to score again. But Thom would get intercepted by Trent Josephs who ran it back 15 yards to the Mustangs' 28-yard line. The Mustangs would have to punt, then the Crush turned the ball over again, as Josephs recovered an Aaron Yarnell fumble at the Colorado 37-yard line. A sack would knock Milwaukee out of field goal range, and the Mustangs punted it away. After a subsequent Crush punt, Milwaukee appeared ready to get on the scoreboard, but Rock Philbrook missed a 40-yard field goal attempt. Colorado would then move the ball 63 yards on 14 plays. Earl Ginger would end the march with a 24-yard field goal with 35 seconds remaining to give the Crush a 10-0 halftime lead.
The Mustangs opened the second half with a 7-play, 52-yard drive ending with a 30-yard field goal by Philbrook to make it 10-3 with 11:18 to go in the third quarter. The Crush responded with a 6-play, 67-yard drive. Thom finished it off with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Yarnell to make it 17-3 with 7:42 to go in the third.

AFL: Avengers Fly By Barnstormers, 41-31
DES MOINES, IA-The Los Angeles Avengers were able to score a last-minute touchdown to pull away from the Iowa Barnstormers 41-31 in a Week 7 AFL game.
The Avengers started the game driving for a score, but Carmon Grimes would miss a 49-yard field goal attempt. The Barnstormers subsequently drove 61 yards on 9 plays, ending with Norm Damron scoring on a 15-yard quarterback scramble to take a 7-0 lead with 6:27 to go in the first quarter. Los Angeles would answer after Hack Jarrod returned the ensuing kickoff 55 yards to the Iowa 36-yard line. After a seven-play, 27-yard drive, Grimes would kick a 26-yard field goal making it 7-3 with 2:18 remaining in the first.
SB Rhoads would miss a 53-yard field goal attempt on the ensuing Iowa possession, then Willie Guess ended a 5-play, 57-yard drive with a 44-yard touchdown pass to Alfie Tharp to give Los Angeles a 10-7 lead with 11:23 remaining in the second quarter. AFL: Dallas Drops Arizona, 30-19
DALLAS-Heinie Voorhees threw three touchdown passes in helping the Dallas Desperados defeat the Arizona Rattlers 30-19 in a Week 7 AFL game.

Voorhees finished the drive with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Clem Shaffer to give Dallas a 7-0 lead with 8:35 remaining in the first quarter. AFL: Rush Eke Out Victory Over Sabercats, 14-6
ROSEMONT, IL-The Chicago Rush managed to keep the San Jose Sabercats out of the end zone and won by a score of 14-6 in a Week 7 AFL game.
San Jose got the ball first, and was forced to punt. Panco Rhymer managed to down the kick at the Chicago 2-yard line. The Rush went three-and-out, and Winn Burnett shanked a kick out of bounds to the Rush 23-yard line. Six plays later, the Sabercats faced a 4th-and-1 at the 3-yard line, and settled for a 20-yard field goal by Ethan Wycoff to take a 3-0 lead with 4:36 left in the first quarter. The Rush would be forced to punt, and this time Burnett managed to pin the Sabercats back at their own 2-yard line.
San Jose would punt on their ensuing possession, then Chicago would move the ball 82 yards on 10 plays. Hershel Kimbrell finished it off with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Lonnie Clements to give the Rush a 7-3 lead with 7:57 to go in the second quarter. Punts were traded until late in the half, when San Jose had a chance to score, but time ran out.

UNIONDALE, NY-The New York Dragons finally got on the winning side of the ledger as they held off a fourth-quarter comeback attempt to defeat the Orlando Predators 33-26 in a Week 7 AFL game.
The Dragons got on the board right away as Hudie Mancini intercepted a pass from Woodrow Richardson and ran it back 33 yards for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead with 22 seconds gone in the first quarter. The Predators were able to answer back with a 10-play, 49-yard drive that ended with a 39-yard field goal by Abel White to make it 7-3 with 9:11 to go in the first quarter. The teams traded punts, then New York attempted to drive for a score, but Jose Trust missed a 46-yard field goal late in the quarter.

AFL: Storm Defeat Firebirds, 34-19
ALBANY, NY-The Tampa Bay Storm defeated the Albany Firebirds 34-19 in a Week 7 AFL game.
The Storm got off to an early start with a 3-play, 59-yard drive. Willie Zachary scored on a 25-yard touchdown run to give Tampa Bay a 7-0 lead with 13:26 left in the first quarter. The Firebirds would answer back with a 13-play, 47-yard drive. Wally Dancer would kick a 28-yard field goal to make it 7-3 with 6:59 left in the first.
After trading punts, Tampa Bay drove into scoring position, but Johnny Quincey missed a 48-yard field goal attempt early in the second quarter. Albany would punt the ball away, then the Storm drove 80 yards on 13 plays. Orval Stanley finished it off with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Foster Warhurst to make it 14-3 with 6:48 left in the second.
